Henry Vero died on 3rd February 1916, aged 28 after being injured in a roof fall at Grassmore Colliery on 18th October 1915. He was the eldest son of Tom and Eliza (nee Atkins) Vero. His brother Tom was killed in the WW1 is named on the war memorial.
