    Richard Rhodes BUXTON buried 18 Aug 1900 aged 47 of Brampton. Son of Abraham Hays and Mary Anne Buxton (Nee Rhodes) he took his forenames from his maternal grandfather who died just before he was born The husband of Eliza (Nee Alton), died on 15th August 1900 in a mining accident when the roof collapsed. He left a widow and six children

    BURIED IN A CLAY PIT NEAR CHESTERFIELD.
    A fall of “bind” occurred yesterday at a clay pit at Walton belonging to Mr. James Pearson, colliery owner and earthenware manufacturer, completely burying a man named Richard Buxton, aged 45, of Britannia Street, New Brampton. He died from suffocation.
